BALTIMORE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO INSPIRE DONORS TO ACHIEVE THEIR CHARITABLE GOALS
DONOR-ADVISED GRANTS: BCF PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL GRANTMAKING SERVICES AND ADMINISTRATION OF DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS, WHICH ALLOW INDIVIDUAL AND CORPORATE DONORS TO RECOMMEND GRANTS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS OF THEIR CHOICE. BCF HAS 401 DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS RANGING IN SIZE FROM $10,000 TO $5,000,000. BCF ENCOURAGES PHILANTHROPY BY PROVIDING THIS CONVENIENT VEHICLE FOR DONORS TO ACHIEVE THEIR CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES. BCF WELCOMES THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTNER WITH DONORS WHO WANT TO BE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN GRANTMAKING.
CIVIC LEADERSHIP: BCF ADDRESSES COMMUNITY ISSUES USING GRANTS, PROGRAM INITIATIVES AND ADVOCACY. CURRENT PRIORITIES FOR THESE EFFORTS ARE EDUCATION AND NEIGHBORHOODS. GRANTS ARE MADE POSSIBLE LARGELY BY DISCRETIONARY ENDOWMENTS ENTRUSTED TO BCF BY DONORS. ADVOCACY EFFORTS ARE SUPPORTED BY ANNUAL GIFTS AND AN ENDOWMENT FOR CIVIC LEADERSHIP. BCF PROGRAMS INCLUDE: MIDDLE GRADES PARTNERSHIP AND THE CENTRAL MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION ALLIANCE. BCF WORKS WITH PARTNERS FROM THE PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT SECTORS TO ACHIEVE ITS CIVIC LEADERSHIP GOALS, AND OFFERS DONORS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN AND GIVE TOGETHER TO MAKE BALTIMORE BETTER.
DESIGNATED FUNDS: BCF MANAGES CHARITABLE FUNDS ESTABLISHED TO BENEFIT A SPECIFIC ORGANIZATION OR PROGRAM. ORGANIZATIONS OR INDIVIDUAL DONORS WHO CREATE THESE FUNDS BENEFIT FROM BCF'S INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT, ADHERENCE TO DONOR INTENT AND - IN THE CASE OF ENDOWMENT - ASSURANCE OF PERMANENCE.
