Organizations Filed Purposes: The Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance, Inc. (GBCA) nurtures and promotes a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable arts and cultural community essential to the region's quality of life.Created by cultural leaders and artists in 2001 to work toward common goals, GBCA convenes the sector around critical issues of strategic importance. Programming includes grants and awards for artists, as well as advocacy, professional development, tools for marketing, capacity building, while ensuring that the creative economy thrives and is recognized for its many contributions to the region's economic success and vitality. Membership includes arts, culture, history, heritage, humanities organizations, attractions and artists in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties in Maryland.

The Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance, Inc. (GBCA) nurtures and promotes a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable arts and cultural community essential to the region's quality of life.

The Baker Artist Portfolios is a free online portfolio used by 800 to 1,000 to create area artists to create and maintain a current collection of their work. In many cases, artists use the site as their primary websites. To date, the associated Baker Artist Awards have recognized over 100 artists and awarded over $1million to individuals living and working in the region. The awards include a designated segment on Maryland Public Television's Art Works series; a semi annual exhibition of visual arts awardees at the Baltimore Museum of Art; and finalist showcases. GBCA helped create and has managed the Baker Artist Portfolios for over a decade.

Urban Arts Leadership (UAL) is an example of change in action. A program of the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA), UAL is a fellowship program designed to increase diversity in the management of cultural and artistic organizations by building a pipeline for high achieving emerging leaders, focusing on those of color.UAL offers professional development and network building opportunities to develop and empower tomorrow's leaders. UAL Fellows engage in a rigorous training program and are matched with host organizations where they contribute to the organization's culture, and additionally, manage projects that are core to the thrust of the organization.

GBCA's programming and services help build capacity and support for artists and cultural organizations, and encourage all citizens to participate in the rich cultural offerings of the region. GBCA's selected accomplishments highlight its three areas of focus: advocacy, equity and inclusion, and services to the cultural sector.Continue on Schedule O
