Umar's mission is to reclaim community youth from the streets of Baltimore City and prepare them for future roles as productive citizens of society. The program creates and maintains a positive and safe environment for children, providing activities geared to improving academic and athletic skills.
In the 2020 school year Umar was open daily (on a modified basis due to COVID19) from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Certified educators and tutors provided tutoring, homework assistance and computer training, primarily on a remote basis. Boxing training services were provided to forty (40) at-risk kids, ages 6 to 18 years old.
