The corporation was organized to support and disseminate scientific research on the clinical and economic benefits of integrative health modalities
Pursuant to its mission, CAIH developed a plan to identify areas of the healthcare system that most likley would be receptive to adopting integrative healthcare modalities that have the potential to improve clinical outcomes and reduce the cost of healthcare services. Based on specifications designed by CAIH, an experienced healthcare consulting firm submitted a proposed plan for evaluating the potential for the adoption of an extensively researched meditation technigue, the Transcendental Meditation Technique (TM), as an adjuvant modality. The proposal included evaluating the quality of existing clincial research on the technique, interviewing key healthcare decision makers about their criteria for acceptance of TM and other integrative modalities, developing strategies to gain acceptance and designning research protocols for areas for which existing evidence is found to be insufficient to support acceptance. CAIH reviewed and accepted the proposal in Dec 2019
