WITH THE MISSION TO ADVANCE MILITARY MEDICINE, THE HENRY M. JACKSON FOUNDATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF MILITARY MEDICINE, INC (HJF) IS A GLOBAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION PROVIDING INVESTIGATORS AND CLINICIANS SCIENTIFIC, ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT SERVICES. HJF SERVES AS A TRUSTED AND RESPONSIVE LINK BETWEEN THE MILITARY MEDICAL COMMUNITY, FEDERAL AND PRIVATE PARTNERS, AND THE MILLIONS OF AMERICAN SERVICE FAMILIES , VETERANS AND CIVILIANS WHO BENEFIT FROM THE MEDICAL RESEARCH ADVANCES THAT RESULT FROM THIS WORK.
MEDICAL RESEARCH, GENERAL/OTHER: CONDUCT/SUPPORT MEDICAL RESEARCH - THE FOUNDATION ADMINISTERED SPONSORED RESEARCH GRANTS, CONTRACTS, AND COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 1,248 MEDICAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATION PROJECTS. RESEARCH GRANTS AND CONTRACTS INCLUDE EXPENDITURESFOR THE US MILITARY HIV RESEARCH PROGRAM, THE INFECTIOUS DISEASE CLINICAL RESEARCH PROGRAM, THE CENTER FOR NEUROSCIENCE AND REGENERATIVE MEDICINE, THE CENTER FOR PROSTATE DISEASE RESEARCH, THE CENTER FOR GLOBAL AND HEALTH ENGAGEMENT AND OTHER FEDERALLY FUNDED RESEARCH PROJECTS.
ENDOWMENT PROGRAMS: ENDOWMENTS - ENDOWMENTS AND SIMILAR PROGRAMS ARE ASSETS AND FUNDS MANAGED AND HELD BY THE FOUNDATION, WHICH ARE PRIMARILY USED TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AT THE UNIFORMED SERVICES UNIVERSITY OF THE HEALTH SCIENCES ("USUHS"). THE FOUNDATION MANAGED 32 ENDOWMENT FUNDS, WHICH PRIMARILY FUNDED MEDICAL EDUCATION AT USUHS.
PARTNERSHIPS IN EDUCATION PROGRAMS: SUPPORT SPECIAL PROJECTS - EDUCATION PROJECTS ARE EXPENDITURES TO SUPPORT GRADUATE AND CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION AT USUHS AND OTHER MEDICAL SITES. THE FOUNDATION MANAGED NEARLY 130 PROJECT EDUCATION FUND ACCOUNTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FOSTERING GRADUATE CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION BY SUPPORTING VISITING SPEAKERS, SEMINARS AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS AT OVER 117 U.S. MILITARY FACILITIES, RESEARCH ORGANIZATIONS, AND MEDICAL ORGANIZATIONS.
