TIA IS AN INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION REPRESENTING ALL SEGMENTS OF THE TIRE INDUSTRY.
AUTOMOTIVE TIRE SERVICE PROGRAM - TIA CONTINUES TO OFFER ONLINE ACCESS TO ALL BASIC LEVEL TRAINING SERIES ON THE TIA ONLINE UNIVERSITY. TECHNICIANS CAN ACCESS THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE, UP-TO-DATE TIRE SERVICE TRAINING ANYWHERE THERE IS AN INTERNET CONNECTION. THE BASIC LEVEL TRAINING IS DESIGNED FOR NEW HIRES AS PART OF THEIR ORIENTATION AND CAN ALSO BE USED FOR EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS IN NEED OF DOCUMENTED TRAINING. THE SELF-STUDY MODULES INCLUDE VIDEO LEARNING, KNOWLEDGE CHECKS, FINAL EXAM AND A SKILLS DEMONSTRATION FORM. TIA CONTINUES TO OFFER BASIC, CERTIFIED AND INSTRUCTOR ATS TRAINING. THE CERTIFIED ATS PROGRAM INCLUDES THE TIA CERTIFIED AUTOMOTIVE TIRE SERVICE MANUAL. CONFERENCES AND TRADE SHOWS - TIA HOLDS AN ANNUAL TRADESHOW EACH YEAR IN LAS VEGAS. THIS 4 DAY EVENT INCLUDES NETWORKING RECEPTIONS, EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS ALONG WITH A TRADESHOW HELD IN THE SOUTH HALL OF THE LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER. TIA ALSO HOLDS AN ANNUAL OFF-THE-ROAD TIRE CONFERENCE. THIS 3 DAY EVENT INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS, TABLETOP DISPLAYS AND NETWORKING RECEPTIONS. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO COVID, THE IN-PERSON EVENT IN LAS VEGAS WAS CANCELLED IN 2020, BUT TIA DID OFFER VIRTUAL EVENTS INCLUDING A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS. TIA ALSO PARTICIPATED IN A VIRTUAL VERSION OF THE TRADESHOW.
COMMERCIAL TIRE SERVICE PROGRAM - IN 2020 TIA PRODUCED AN UPDATE TO THE 200-LEVEL BASIC COMMERCIAL TIRE SERVICE (CTS) PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES MORE DETAIL AND INFORMATION ON EXISTING TOPICS IN ADDITION TO ADDING NEW CONTENT. BASIC CTS IS DESIGNED FOR NEW HIRES AND COMPLIANCE WITH OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (OSHA) TRAINING REQUIREMENTS ESTABLISHED BY 29 CFR 1910.177. THE UPDATES WILL ENSURE CONTINUED COMPLIANCE WITH 1910.177 AND OTHER APPLICABLE OSHA STANDARDS. TIA'S BASIC COMMERCIAL TIRE SERVICE (CTS) TRAINING AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAM COVERS THE STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURES FOR DEMOUNTING, MOUNTING AND INFLATING BOTH SINGLE AND MULTI-PIECE TIRE AND RIM ASSEMBLIES. IT ALSO COVERS INSPECTION PROCEDURES FOR IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL ZIPPER RUPTURES IN STEEL CORD RADIAL MEDIUM AND LIGHT TRUCK TIRES ALONG WITH DISC WHEEL AND DEMOUNTABLE RIM SERVICE, MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION PROCEDURES. TIA'S CERTIFIED CTS PROGRAM ALSO OUTLINES THE PROPER PROCEDURES FOR SERVICING TRUCK TIRES AND WHEELS. THE FOUNDATION OF THE CERTIFIED CTS PROGRAM IS THE TIA COMMERCIAL TIRE SERVICE MANUAL. THE CTS MANUAL INCLUDES INFORMATION ON TIRE CONSTRUCTION, OSHA REGULATIONS, OSHA CHARTS, ZIPPER RUPTURE INSPECTION PROCEDURES, JACKING/LIFTING, ROAD SERVICE GUIDELINES, HUB/STUD-PILOTED WHEEL SERVICE AND INSPECTION PROCEDURES, DEMOUNTABLE RIM SERVICE AND INSPECTION PROCEDURES, SINGLE/MULTI-PIECE DEMOUNT/MOUNT/ INFLATION PROCEDURES, GENERAL REPAIR GUIDELINES, TWO/ONE-PIECE REPAIR PROCEDURES, TUBE-TYPE REPAIR PROCEDURES, LOAD/INFLATION TABLES AND TIRE DIMENSION/RIM MATCHING CHARTS.
