Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Braddock Heights Community Association's primary exempt purpose is to encourage a sense of individual obligation to and pride in the Braddock Heights Community and to promote and improve the recreational, social and civic betterment of the community.
The BHCA operates a community swimming pool that served 405 member families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The pool provides a place for members to excercise, socialize and develop a sense of community.
The BHCA operates a youth swim team each pool season that is open to all BHCA members. During the summer of 2018, children of 52 families participated on the BHCA swim team that competed in Frederick County Summer Swim League. The swim team provides a place for children to exercise, develop their swimming skills, learn to participate in a team sport and develop a sense of community. Approximate 180 people volunteer to assist with running the swim team and its various activities.
The BHCA operates a community center that is available for BHCA members to rent and hold private functions. During this past fiscal year uses of the facility include family reunions, birthday parties, cub scout meeting, etc. for members.
