Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO ASSIST IN THE ESTABLISHMENT, FUNDING AND MAINTENANCE OF PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT AND ASSIST RESIDENTS OF HARFORD COUNTY, MARYLAND, WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH VARIOUS FORMS OF CANCER. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION INTENDS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR FURTHER CANCER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH IN MARYLAND. ALL OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION ARE MANAGED BY VOLUNTEER EFFORTS.
CHESAPEAKE CANCER ALLIANCE, INC. (THE ORGANIZATION) IS A MEMBER ORGANIZATION FORMED TO ASSIST IN THE ESTABLISHMENT, FUNDING AND MAINTENANCE OF PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT AND ASSIST THOSE INDIVIDUAL RESIDENTS OF HARFORD COUNTY, MARYLAND, WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED AS HAVING CANCER. THOSE PROGRAMS WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO, PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE HEALTH-RELATED ORGANIZATIONS ON THE APPROPRIATE CARE AND TREATMENT OF CANCER PATIENTS; TO EDUCATE AND TRAIN OTHERS TO ASSIST AND CARE FOR CANCER PATIENTS; TO EDUCATE AND COUNSEL FAMILIES OF CANCER PATIENTS AND TO SUPPORT AND FUND THE SCIENTIFIC MEDICAL RESEARCH OF CANCER AND THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT THEREOF BY WORKING WITH THOSE RESEARCH FACILITIES WHOSE MISSION IS CANCER PREVENTION, TREATMENT, EDUCATION AND RESEARCH IN MARYLAND. FINALLY, THE ORGANIZATION WILL ALSO ATTEMPT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR FURTHER CANCER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH BEYOND THE SCOPE OF ITS OWN ACTIVITIES.
DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2013, THE ORGANIZATION MADE A DONATION OF $210,000 TO THE UPPER CHESAPEAKE HEALTH FOUNDATION (EIN NO: 52-1398507) TO BENEFIT THE ONCOLOGY SERVICES OF UPPER CHESAPEAKE HEALTH (EIN NO: 52-1398513). THESE ONCOLOGY SERVICES INCLUDE THE PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION OF UPPPER CHESAPEAKE HEALTH CAREGIVERS, THE ADMINISTRATION OF CASE MANAGEMENT AND THE UNDERTAKING OF OTHER OUTREACH SERVICES THAT WILL BENEFIT CANCER PATIENTS.
