Empowering the Ages transforms lives through facilitating and nurturing relationships across all generations. We connect people to each other and their communities to share, learn and feel valued.
The Sharing Smiles Notes and Concerts program were established in March 2020 as a response to the pandemic to reduce social isolation and loneliness. Hundreds of pairs of older adults and youth are engaging in on-going communication and connections through email and mail. Youth orchestras regularly perform live-streamed concerts for older adults in their independent homes as well as living communities, enhancing the lives of hundreds of seniors.
Empowering the Ages collaborated with Hadassah to begin the development of a curriculum for grandparents to improve their relationships with their grandchildren.
Empowering the Ages worked in collaboration with Catholic Charities, the Archdiocese of Washington and the Justice and Advocacy Council of Montgomery County to develop the educational opportunities and intergenerational programs to enhance the lives of youth and seniors within the Catholic community of Montgomery County.
