TO EDUCATE THE PAVING INDUSTRY THROUGH SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES. TO IMPROVE AND EXTEND THE USE OF ASPHALT IN PAVING ROADS. TO RENDER INFORMATION ON THE ASPHALT AND PAVING INDUSTRY TO ALL INTERESTED PARTIES.

THE MARYLAND ASPHALT ASSOCIATION, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MARYLAND STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION, OFFERS THE ONLINE ASPHALT TECHNICIAN TRAINING. THIS PROGRAM, CONSISTING OF 12 MODULES AND A CERTIFICATION REVIEW, TEACHES PARTICIPANTS THE BASICS OF ASPHALT. FOLLOWING THE COMPETITION OF THE ONLINE MODULE, PARTICIPANTS MAY TAKE THEIR CERTIFICATION EXAM IN-PERSON WITH THE MARYLAND STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO BE CERTIFIED AS AN ASPHALT FIELD TECHNICIAN. THE COURSE IS 550 FOR MAA MEMBERS, 750 FOR NON-MEMBERS, AND 200 FOR MARYLAND STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION EMPLOYEES.
THE ANNUAL PAVING CONFERENCE PROVIDES A FULL DAY OF EDUCATION, EXHIBITS, AND AN AWARDS PRESENTATION, AND FURTHERMORE PROVIDES A FORUM FOR THE SHARING OF IDEAS AND CONCERNS BY BRINGING TOGETHER KEY PERSONNEL AND DECISION MAKERS FROM BOTH THE CONSTRUCTION AND ROAD BUILDING INDUSTRY, AS WELL AS FEDERAL HIGHWAY AND STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATIONS. THIS ONE-DAY EVENT IS SCHEDULED FROM 7:15 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M.
THE HOTMIXER IS AN ANNUAL EVENT FOR MAA MEMBERS TO NETWORK WITH OTHERS IN THE ASPHALT INDUSTRY, AS WELL AS OFFER THEIR VALUABLE EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS AND OPPORTUNITY TO DO THE SAME. THE EVENING FEATURES FOOD, DRINK AND ENTERTAINMENT.
