The Environmental Leadership Program seeks to transform public understanding of environmental issues by training and supporting a diverse network of visionary, action-oriented, emerging leaders.
To provide environmentally focused leadership education and training.
Doris Duke Conservation Scholar Program Alumni Program: In 2019, ELP managed the Alumni Program of the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program (DDCSP). Working in partnership with the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the 5 partner universities running DDCSP programs: University of California Santa Cruz, the University of Washington, Northern Arizona State University, the University of Florida and the University of Michigan, ELP created online content, a mentorship program and two in-person leadership trainings to build and support a thriving network of under-represented conservation professionals.
General Program: Includes general program work and support to regional and national fellows. ELP General Program activities provide additional support to our regional and national Fellows as well as our Senior Fellowship Community (graduates of the program). Included in our general program activities in 2019 was our webinar series, a dynamic online program that provides educational opportunities to the general public on the diverse areas of expertise within the ELP Community and a multi-day Senior Fellows Retreat which brought together 20 Fellows from around the country and across program years.
