Organizations Filed Purposes:
Our mission is to embody mercy, justice and love as diverse faith partners in Washington County. The Council is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
Micah's Backpack: The organization purchases food from the Maryland Food Bank for member churches to place in backpacks that are distributed to local schools that supplement nutritional needs each weekend during the school year. The delivery of food was significantly impacted by COVID 19 in 2020, reducing expenses until delivery methods could be created which would be safe. Meanwhile the program benefited by several large grants that will enable food purchases going into 2021.
In 2020 the position of Executive Director was extended to full-time, just as the pandemic hit. Member services accounted for the remainder of income and expenses incurred in 2020.
