Organizations Filed Purposes: PETCONNECT RESCUE IS AN ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SAVING DOGS AND CATS AT HIGH RISK OF EUTHANASIA. OUR COMPASSIONATE VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF FIND LOVING HOMES FOR ALL THE ANIMALS THAT COME INTO OUR CARE AND PROVIDE ONGOING SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE ADOPTION PROCESS AND BEYOND. WE ARE COMMITTED TO ENSURING A HIGHLY POSITIVE RESCUE EXPERIENCE FOR OUR ADOPTERS AND TO RAISING AWARENESS OF THE PLIGHT OF ABANDONED ANIMALS THROUGH COMMUNITY EDUCATION.

SEE PART III, LINE 1.

PETCONNECT RESCUE - OVER THE PAST FISCAL YEAR, PETCONNECT RESCUE SAVED 768 DOGS AND 564 CATS AT RISK OF BEING EUTHANIZED. TO THIS END, VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED TRANSPORTATION FROM SHELTERS TO FOSTER HOMES OR BOARDING FACILITIES AS WELL AS TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS. PETCONNECT RESCUE PARTNERS WITH LOCAL VETERINARY FACILITIES TO PROVIDE MEDICAL ATTENTION INCLUDING SPAY/NEUTER, VACCINES, GENERAL VETTING AND MORE EXTENSIVE CARE, SUCH AS SURGERIES, IF NECESSARY. BOTH GROOMING AND BEHAVIORAL EVALUATIONS AND INTERVENTION SERVICES WERE RENDERED AS NEEDED. PETCONNECT RESCUE HOSTED ADOPTION EVENTS TO SHOWCASE THE ANIMALS, POSTED THEM ON THE VARIOUS WEBSITES, CONDUCTED INTERVIEWS WITH POTENTIAL ADOPTIVE FAMILIES, COMPLETED HOME CHECKS, AND FOLLOWED UP WITH OWNERS OF ADOPTED ANIMALS TO ENSURE THAT THE PLACEMENT WAS SUCCESSFUL. IN THE EVENT THAT THE ADOPTION DID NOT WORK OUT, PETCONNECT RESCUE REPEATED THE PLACEMENT PROCESS TO FIND A SUCCESSFUL MATCH.

SENIOR DOG PROGRAM: IN THE FALL OF 2017, PETCONNECT RESCUE LAUNCHED A FORMALIZED SENIOR DOG PROGRAM (DEFINED AS DOGS WHO ARE 7 YEARS AND OLDER), AN EXTENSION OF THE EXISTING ADOPTION PROGRAM YET WITH ITS OWN DISTINCT ASPECTS. THIS WAS ONCE AGAIN MADE POSSIBLE BY THE UNUSUAL GRANT RECEIVED IN AUGUST OF 2017, AND PETCONNECT RESCUE WAS ABLE TO BRING A LONG-TIME DREAM INTO REALITY. BY DOING SO, PETCONNECT RESCUE HAS HELPED AN ANIMAL POPULATION VULNERABLE TO EUTHANASIA, WHO MAY BE AGING YET WOULD OTHERWISE MAKE GREAT PETS, GAIN A SECOND CHANCE FOR A HAPPY AND HEALTHY LIFE WITH AFFECTIONATE AND CARING FAMILIES. FUNDS FROM THE GRANT ALSO ALLOWED THE ORGANIZATION TO MODIFY A PRE-EXISTING STRUCTURE SO THAT IT COULD BE TRANSFORMED INTO A SPACE THAT WOULD PROPERLY ACCOMMODATE AND TEMPORARILY HOUSE SOME OF OUR SENIOR DOGS WHILE IN FOSTER CARE. LAST FISCAL YEAR, PETCONNECT RESCUE SAVED 47 DOGS, WHO MET THE SENIOR CRITERIA, AND 39 WERE ADOPTED OUT TO FOREVER HOMES.

ST. MARY'S FOR AQUARIUM: AS A RESULT OF AN UNUSUAL GRANT, PETCONNECT RESCUE WAS ABLE TO FORM A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH ST. MARY'S COURT, A DIVERSE NON-PROFIT SENIOR LIVING FACILITY IN WASHINGTON, DC. ST. MARY'S IS HOME TO APPROXIMATELY 140 RESIDENTS. THESE FUNDS ALLOWED PETCONNECT RESCUE TO PROVIDE THE COMMUNITY WITH A NEW FISH AQUARIUM AND ITS ONGOING MAINTENANCE. THE AQUARIUM SERVES AS AN ATTRACTIVE, THERAPEUTIC FEATURE FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF THE RESIDENTS, THEIR VISITORS, AND STAFF THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. PETCONNECT RESCUE IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL UPKEEP OF THE AQUARIUM FOR A TERM OF 10 YEARS.
