Organizations Filed Purposes: TO SERVE YOUTH FROM DISADVANTAGED ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ENRICHMENT THAT INCLUDE SEMINARS THAT FOSTER SELF- ESTEEM AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, COLLEGE TOURS AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT AND EXPOSURE TO SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH CAREERS.

PROVIDED 43 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS TO DISADVANTAGED AND UNDERREPRESENTED ETHNIC YOUTH TO PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION. THIS INCLUDED PROVIDING EMERGENCY FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO SEVERAL STUDENTS WITH IMMEDIATE NEEDS. TWENTY-TWO STUDENTS ARE PURSUING DEGREES IN THE FIELDS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM). DOCUMENTED SCHOLARS IN COMMEMORATION PROGRAM BOOK.

CONTINUED FACILITATION OF THE PRE-COLLEGE INITIATIVE MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NATIONAL SOCIETY OF BLACK ENGINEERS (NSBE) FOR 80 DISADVANTAGED AND UNDERREPRESENTED ETHNIC YOUTH PURSUING CAREERS IN THE FIELDS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (STEM), THE YOUTHS WERE PROVIDED: (1) VIRTUAL STEM MONTHLY SESSIONS; (2) VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION IN THE NSBE NATIONAL CONFERENCE WHERE THEY ATTENDED WORKSHOPS DESIGNED FOR HANDS ON ACTIVITIES; (3) VIRTUAL MATH TUTORING; (4) EXPOSURE TO GUEST SPEAKERS REPRESENTING DIVERSE STEM FIELDS. (5) PARTICIPATED IN VIRTUAL STEM COMPETITION TEAMS INCLUDING FIRST LEGO ROBOTICS, TEN80 RACECAR AND MATH COMPETITIONS.

(1)CONTINUED OFFERING EDUCATIONAL SERVICES FOR DISADVANTAGED AND UNDERREPRESENTED ETHNIC YOUTH TO: (A) PROMOTE THE AWARENESS OF CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FIELD OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATHEMATICS; (B) PROVIDE ACCESS TO COLLEGE PLANNING ASSISTANCE; AND (C) PROVIDE MENTORING AND TUTORING SERVICE; (2) UPGRADED THE HISTORICAL EXHIBIT THAT HIGHLIGHTS AFRICAN AMERICAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO THIS WORLD WITH GRANT RECEIVED FROM THE MARYLAND HERITAGE AREA AUTHORITY; (3) RECIPIENT OF THE 2020 TRI COUNTY MD DELTA SIGMA THETA COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD; (4) PUT VIRTUAL INFRASTRUCTURE IN PLACE TO ALLOW PROGRAMS TO CONTINUE INCLUDING NUMEROUS IT TOOLS.
