THE PRIMARY MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO BUILD HEALTHY COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING SOCIAL SERVICE REFERRALS, COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES, AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT TO LOW TO MODERATE INCOME POPULATIONS.

THROUGH ITS SERVICES AND PROGRAMS CENTRO DE APOYO FAMILIAR (CAF) IMPACTED OVER 11,000 LOW TO MODERATE-INCOME FAMILIES DURING 2019, SPECIFICALLY, THROUGH THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES LISTED BELOW: HOMEOWNERSHIP AND ASSET BUILDING SERVICES:CAF IMPACTED OVER 8,000 FAMILIES THROUGH A NUMBER OF HOMEOWNERSHIP AND ASSET BUILDING SERVICES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE AREAS OF FINANCIAL COUNSELING AND EDUCATION, FORECLOSURE PREVENTION AND MITIGATION, PRE-PURCHASE CONSELING, CREDIT COUNSELING SAVINGS PROGRAMS TARGETING LOW-TO MODERATE-INCOME HISPANIC FAMILIES. CAF'S 2019 HOUSING AND ASSET BUILDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE: - SERVED OVER 7,000 FAMILIES IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND, VIRGINIA AND MASSACHUSETTS THROUGH CAF'S FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYER, FINANCIAL LITERACY, AND FORECLOSURE PREVENTION PROGRAM. - TRAINED OVER 1,300 FAMILIES IN ASSET BUILDING PROGRAMS; FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, HOMEOWNERSHIP, FORECLOSURE PREVENTION AND CREDIT REBUILDING. - ASSISTED OVER 700 HOMEOWNERS AVOID FORECLOSURE; - TRAINED OVER 5,000 FAMILIES ON FINANCIAL EDUCATION AND CREDIT RESTORATION; - PROVIDED ONE-ON-ONE PRE-PURCHASE COUNSELING TO OVER 500 FAMILIES COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION EVENT: CAF FACILITATED OVER 25 COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION EVENTS ASSISTING OVER 5,000 FAMILIES ON FINANCIAL EDUCATION, HOUSING AND FORECLOSURE PREVENTION WORKSHOPS AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION. FAMILIES WERE ALSO CONNECTED TO SEVERAL COMMNUTY RESOURCES SUCH AS JOBS, PRO-BONO ATTORNEY, SHELTERS AND MUCH MORE. NUEVA ESPERANZA/NEW HOPE BILINGUAL ELDERLY PROGRAM: CAF HELPED TO PREVENT ISOLATION, DEPRESSION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE QUALITY OF LIFE TO OVER 200 ELDERS AND PROVIDED 50 WORKSHOPS TO OVER 200 ELDERS IN THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, MASSACHUSETTS. CAPACITIY BUILDING PROGRAM AND ITS CONNECTORS NETWORK: CAF WAS ABLE TO CONNECT OVER 200 FAITH BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO A NUMBER OF RESOURCES IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH CAF'S CONNECTOR'S NETWORK. CAF ALSO TRAINED OVER 100 PROMOTERS "COMMUNITY WORKERS" TO DEVELOP TRAINING SKILLS ON A NUMBER OF TOPICS.SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM: CAF ENGAGED AND EDUCATED OVER 50 LATINO YOUTH THROUGH ITS SUMMER SPORT AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM ALSO FOCUSED ON HELPING YOUNG ADULTS DEVELOP STRONG CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS.CONTADOS/COUNTED: CAF PARTNERED WITH 40 CHURCHES TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT OUTREACH STRATEGIES FOR THE 2020 CENSUS.
DURING 2019,CAF'S HEALTHY FAMILIES PROGRAM HELPED TO EMPOWER OVER 2,000 FAMILIES BY PROVIDING EMOTIONAL, SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE AREAS OF ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH, HEALTHY EATING, AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.
