Organizations Filed Purposes: THE CHESAPEAKE WATER ENVIRONMENT ASSOCIATION IS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING WATER QUALITY AND PROTECTING THE WATER ENVIRONMENT IN DELAWARE, MARYLAND AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. THE ASSOCIATION STRIVES TO DO THIS THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION, THE EXCHANGE OF TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION AMOUNG WATER QUALITY PROFESSIONALS, THE TRAINING OF WASTEWATER AND WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATORS, AND BY OFFERING TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND ADVICE TO THE LAW-MAKING AND REGULATORY PROCESSES.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE - CWEA MEMBERS JOINED TOGETHER WITH CHESAPEAKE SECTION OF THE AMERICAN WATER WORKS ASSOCIATION (CSAWWA) AND WATER AND WASTE OPERATORS ASSOCIATION (WWOA) MEMBERS IN 2019 FOR THE ANNUAL TRI-ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE, HELD AT ROLAND POWELL CONVENTION CENTER, OCEAN CITY, MD. THE CONFERENCE WAS HELD FROM AUGUST 27, 2019 - AUGUST 30, 2019.EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:OVER 1,300 MEMBERS AND PARTNERS OF THE THREE ASSOCIATIONS ATTENDED, AND CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS WERE PROVIDED FOR OPERATORS AND ENGINEERS.THERE WERE EXHIBITOR BOOTHS.THE ANNUAL OPERATIONS CHALLENGE - THIS EVENT HIGHLIGHTS IMPORTANT SKILLS POSSESSED BY OPERATORS.SILENT AUCTION BENEFITTING ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS.5K FUN RUN / WALK BENEFITTING WATER FOR PEOPLE.GOLF OUTING BENEFITTING WATER FOR PEOPLE.

ANNUAL CWEA/PWEA WEFTEC MEMBER RECEPTION WAS HELD ON SEPTEMBER 21 - 25, 2019 IN CHICAGO. THE JOINT RECEPTION FOR MEMBERS OF CWEA/PWEA PROVIDED A MEET-AND-GREET OPPORTUNITY TO NETWORK WITH CURRENT OR POTENTIAL CLIENTS,

DURING 2019, THE VARIOUS COMMITTEES OF CWEA PRESENTED TRAINING PROGRAMS, JOINT FORUMS AND SEVERAL SEMINARS AND TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS. LISTED BELOW ARE SOME HIGHLIGHTS:1.) STUDENT ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE - ANNUAL CAREER FAIR. JOINT EVENT WITH CSAWWA. GRADUATING COLLEGE STUDENTS FROM AREA UNIVERSITIES ARE INVITED FOR AN INFORMATIONAL PROGRAM AND INTERVIEWS WITH PROSPECTIVE WATER INDUSTRY EMPLOYERS. 2.) STORMWATER COMMITTEE - 2 WEBINARS JUNE AND SEPTEMBER, 2019. TECHNICAL SEMINAR JUNE 2019 3.) SPRING MEETING COMMITTEE - JOINT CWEA/ CSAWWA EVENT WITH TECHNICAL PROGRAM MAY, 2019. 4.) THE 70TH ANNUAL SHORT COURSE FOR WATER AND WASTE OPERATORS WAS HOSTED BY CWEA, CSAWWA AND WWOA AT MOUNT SAINT MARY'S UNIVERSITY IN JUNE, 2019 THE FULL WEEK TRAINING SESSION PROVIDED INSTRUCTION TO MARYLAND TREATMENT PLANT OPERATORS. 5.) THE WATER REUSE COMMITTEE PRESENTED A TECHNICAL SEMINAR MAY 2019 - "HOW TO DEVELOP AN EFFECTIVE PUBLIC OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR WATER REUSE AND A SECOND IN NOVEMBER 2019, TITLED " THE FUTURE OF WATER REUSE IN THE CHESAPEAKE BAY REGION."
