Organizations Filed Purposes: The Danya Institutes mission is to provide training, leadership development and technical assistance to health and human services providers and consumers to enhance prevention, health promotion, and treatment services through the use of evidence-based practice.

The Central East Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC), established in August 2018 by the Substance Abuse and Mental Service Administration. The Center managed by the Danya Institute provides technical assistance and training to the behavioral health and primary care workforce. Training and technical assistance (T/TA) included evidence-based prevention, treatment and recovery support services related to improving outcomes for individuals who have and/or are at risk of developing a serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorder. The Center serves the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) Region 3: Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. During its second year of operation, the Center exceeded its goal by hosting 84 events and reaching 3,113 individuals. A particularly focused involved strengthening the clinical skills, knowledge and capacity of the workforce by making the T/TA relevant to the behavioral challenges related to COVID-19 and societal unrest. In addition, the Center participated in the development and advancement of a school mental health curriculum focused on increasing the skills and knowledge of educators in the areas of trauma-informed care, mental health literacy, and cultural responsiveness.

The ATTC has six(6) overarching goals with progress made towards achieving them all. These goals support the aim of accelerating the adoption and implementation of evidence-based and promising addiction treatment and recovery-oriented practices and services. Beginning September 29, 2019 through September 30, 2020, there are 102 training events and 53 technical assistance (TA) events, including webinars planned or implemented. For these events, there was a total of 4,132 participants. Of those partcipants, 75% completed the post evaluation form with 84% of the atendees strongly agreed or agreed across all events-related agreement items. This year highlights are as follows: the SAMHSA Region 3 Social Work Education Sysmposium, Motivational Interviewing Intense TA Capacity Building Projects and Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services Webinar Series.

The PttC's mission is to improve the implementation and delivery of effective behavioral health prevention interventions/Strategies via training and technical (T/TA) assistance services to the behavioral health and other allied workforces in HHS Region 3. During FY19, the Center provided 47 T/TA events including 20 webinars, 3 intensive trainings, 2 meetings, 6 peer sharing calls, 3 networkworking events, etc. For these events, the Center reached over 1550 participants. In addition, the Center developed several prevention products including 4 prevention tip sheets of various topics and a prevention guide to implementing culturally competent services and conducted several formal and informal need assessments.
