As the premier scientific medical organization in the obesity field, The Obesity Society (TOS) is uniquely positioned to lead the way in advancing the science-based understanding of the causes, consequences, prevention and treatment of obesity. TOS encourages its members to promote application of the highest professional standards in obesity-related research and clinical care by providing strong mentorship for assisting, educating, and supporting our colleagues. TOS leads the way in advocacy for evidence-based treatments for those with obesity. TOS, its members and staff led national and international efforts to ensure compassion and respect for people living with obesity and to work to reduce the stigma and bias often associated with obesity. Obesity Journal: Obesity Journal is a monthly publication of peer-reviewed integrated studies and exploration of scientific developments in all areas of obesity-related research, including clinical investigations, obesity biology, integrated physiology, pediatric obesity, epidemiology and genetics.
Obesity Medicine Fellowship CouncilThe Obesity Medicine Fellowship Council (OMFC) was created to support fellowship programs, fellows, and the field of Obesity Medicine. The OMFC is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date information regarding Obesity Medicine fellowship training, as well as other resources for those interested in learning more about careers in Obesity Medicine.
ObesityWeek:Annual Scientific Meeting: Our annual scientific meeting was held this year in November, in conjunction with American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery's Annual Meeting, this was all performed through the Partnership - Obesity Week, LLC with only a portion of the net profits returning to TOS.
