Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Greater Waldorf Jaycee Foundation, Inc. raises funds through several fundraising efforts; Bingo and Catering. In 1992 the Foundation constructed a new community center in Waldorf, Maryland from which it conducts all of its activities. The Center was expanded several times since. This community center provides a cost-free meeting place for many community organizations such as senior citizens groups, disabled citizens, town hall meetings, political and educational forums, as well as the activities of the local Jaycee chapter. The building also provides large areas for the Foundation's Bingo, and Catering funtions. Officers and Directors receive no compensation for their services. In 2009 the Foundation brought into its scope of activities another entity via a merger. This entity, Jaycee Housing for the Elderly, Inc., had functioned as a separate corporation renting subsidized housing to senior citizens. This activity was always a focus of the Foundation and was supported and managed by the Foundation as a part of its ongoing effort with senior citizen activities. The Jaycee Housing for the Elderly operations are included in this return.
