Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE PARTNERSHIP STRIVES TO BUILD THE CAPACITY OF INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN CARROLL COUNTY, MARYLAND.
THE PARTNERSHIP CONTINUED TO TAKE VERY LARGE STEPS IN FULFILLING THE ADVOCACY AND AUTHORITY ROLE FOR ASSESSMENT AND MEASUREMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH. AS THE CULTURE OF HEALTH AND HEALTHCARE CONTINUES TO TRANSFORM, WE ARE FINDING OUR MODEL TO BE EFFICIENT AND PROFICIENT IN CENTRALIZING THE MUCH NEEDED COLLABORATIVES. RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND PARTNERSHIPS HAVE BECOME THE MOST PRACTICAL STRUCTURE TO MAKE AN IMPACT. PREVENTATIVE CARE IS RECEIVING MUCH DESIRED ATTENTION AS IT IS BEING SEEN AS THE FOUNDATION OF HEALTH. THE COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS BETWEEN THE PARTNERSHIP AND ITS FOUNDING MEMBERS ARE STEADFAST. GROWTH OF PREVENTATIVE CARE IS EXPECTED TO TAKE FORM AS HOLISTIC HEALTH. WITH THE USE OF OUR RESTRICTED FUNDS, WE WERE ABLE TO SUPPORT OUR INITIATIVES AT A LEVEL THAT WAS BENEFICIAL FOR MAKING A LARGER IMPACT. THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES WERE ALLOCATED PRIMARILY FOR WALK CARROLL, CARE, NOBODY IS PERFECT, THE ABBREVIATED VERSION OF THE SUBSTANCE USE GUIDE, CARROLL CARDS AND THE TOTAL HEALTH EXPO.
THE PARTNERSHIP, ALONG WITH THE CARROLL COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND CARROLL HOSPITAL, CONTINUED TO SUPPORT THE C.A.R.E. PROGRAM (CARROLL ANTI-STIGMA RESILIENCE EFFORT) WHICH BEGAN TO RAISE AWARENESS AND PROVIDE EDUCATION TO COMBAT THE DISCRIMINATION AND STIGMA ASSOCIATED WITH MENTAL ILLNESS. THE PARTNERSHIP HELD A SUCCESSFUL 'THIS IS MY BRAVE' SHOW WHERE PEOPLE TOLD STORIES OF THEIR LIVED EXPERIENCE THROUGH MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE USE. PARTNERSHIP ALSO WORKED ON A COLLABORATION WITH THE ROARING RUN LIONS CLUB, WHERE ANTI-STIGMA MESSAGES WERE ADDED ONTO COFFEE MUGS. THE MUGS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DISTRIBUTED ON A PLANNED 'DAY OF ACTION', HOWEVER DUE TO COVID-19 THE DAY OF ACTION WAS CANCELLED. INSTEAD, THE MUGS WERE PROVIDED TO THE COMMUNITY VIA THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. THE PARTNERSHIP ALSO HELD A VIRTUAL CONTEST FOR THE MUG DESIGNS, THAT WERE THEN CREATED INTO BACKPACKS FOR THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF WESTMINSTER, AND CREATED AN AD TO ADDRESS THOSE NEW TO MENTAL ILLNESS.
WALK CARROLL PROGRAMMING WAS SUCCESSFULLY EXPANDED TO INCLUDE A NUMBER OF PROJECTS OUTSIDE OF THE TRADITIONAL WALKING CLUBS IN ORDER TO REACH MORE COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND SUPPORT NEW IDEAS FOR INCREASING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. IN ADDITION TO GROWING THE TRADITIONAL WALKING CLUBS, PLANS TO EXPAND WALK CARROLL, A PARTNERSHIP WITH RECREATION AND PARKS OF NORTH CARROLL WAS MADE, TO INCLUDE A WALK AT CAPE HORN PARK IN HAMPSTEAD. EXPANSION ALSO INCLUDED A NEW WALKING GROUP AT THE TOWN MALL OF WESTMINSTER LED BY A COMMUNITY MEMBER FROM CHANGE, INC., ENCOMPASSING DIVERSITY.
